ARTIST’S STATEMENT
Dylan Fox is a queer trans artist working across expanded print, publishing, installation, participation and artist-led infrastructure.
Using familiar public forms including newspapers, guidebooks, signage, workshops, archives and artist-run spaces, his work explores how people are read, misread, included, delayed, believed or made visible through systems of language, information and access.
Working across print, moving image, participation and social space, Fox treats print not only as ink on paper, but as a wider system through which experiences, knowledge and power circulate.
He is particularly interested in reading as a social activity: how people interpret spaces, systems, atmospheres, behaviours and one another through everyday public life. Recent work explores public reading systems, collective interpretation and publishing as a form of social infrastructure.
Emerging from lived experiences of healthcare systems, institutional navigation, grief and public visibility, his practice examines how complex experiences become socially legible through participation, circulation and collective forms of reading.
Fox is the founder of Silly Gooze Editions, an artist-run Risograph studio, publishing structure and ongoing social artwork

SILLY GOOZE AS PRACTICE INFRASTRUCTURE
Founded in 2023, Silly Gooze Editions is an artist-facilitated Risograph studio, publishing structure and ongoing social artwork based in Northamptonshire.
Operating simultaneously as a public studio, collaborative publishing structure and ongoing artwork, Silly Gooze explores how print can function as social infrastructure: creating spaces for participation, exchange, learning and collective production through workshops, artist books, exhibitions and independent publishing.
Grounded in the belief that “anything can be print”, the project approaches publishing as a shared public activity rather than a closed professional system.
